Poland

Poland, tell us your secret.

Poland is the old new Madagascar. 

If I remember correctly, Poland’s secret is that the jews where being blamed all over europe (as usual) as scapegoats for the black plague. Poland was the only place that accepted Jewish refugees, so pretty much all of them moved there. 

Now, one of the major causes of getting the plague was poor hygiene. This proved very effective for the plague because everyone threw their poop into the streets because there were no sewers, and literally no one bathed because it was against their religion. Unless they were jewish, who actually bathed relatively often. When all the jews moved to Poland, they brought bathing with them, and so the plague had little effect there.

Milan survived by quarantining its city and burning down the house of anyone showing early symptoms, with the entire family inside it.

I don’t think it is only because of Jews; every good Slavic possession used to have its own “bania” (baths). Then public baths appeared in big cities; there were over a dozen public baths in Cracow in the XIV century. Foreign travelers were often suprised by the level of hygiene in this part of Europe.

Funny fact: after the black death plague all scholars said that it was caused by too frequent washing and baths went bust.

Being a girlfriend is not just about being beautiful and attractive for your guy. It’s not just about letting him chase you, letting him do sweet things every time you’re mad at him and not just receiving flowers and gifts during your anniversaries. Just because you know that you can always keep him on his feet, doesn’t mean you can manipulate him. You understand him not just as a partner but as individual too. you help him in every way showing him, that in a relationship, there’s no “I” or “you”, there’s only “we” and “us”. You know also that a man has their ego, and even when it become a little irritating sometimes, you still understand that it’s a part of his nature. A girlfriend is not just a term, it also has responsibilities that every girl must know. You’re a friend, a sister, a second mom, a teacher, and a best friend.

• When books change covers with editions so they don’t all match unless you buy the series in one go.
• When some books are hardcover and some are softcover and it doesn’t match but you can’t find another copy.
• When some covers are different in certain countries so you don’t get the main one which also happens to look better than all the other varieties.
• Basically just books.
• God damn them.
